The objectives of the CBSWSA are:

• To serve as a platform for exchanges, contacts, technical discussions and cooperation among its members in the field of banking supervision through regular meetings allowing the sharing of experience, supervisory techniques, information and know-how;
• work closely with the Basel Committee and to facilitate close contact and cooperation between its members and other banking supervision groups in areas of common interest;
•  to assist in the harmonization of the banking supervision systems of member countries and to coordinate the efforts of its members, with a view to dealing with the specific difficulties of banking supervision;
• to encourage and promote research, training, educational programmes and, in general, all activities that meet the needs of its members.
