Capacity-building seminar on the supervision of money laundering and terrorist financing (ML/TF) risk
01/04/2026, Kinshasha-The Democratic Republic Of Congo
The Committee of Banking Supervisors of West and Central Africa (CBSWCA) organized a regional seminar on the supervision of money laundering and terrorist financing (ML/TF) risks in Kinshasa from April 1 to 3, 2026, under the chairmanship of the Central Bank of the Congo. Bringing together several CBSWCA members—including the Central Bank of the Congo, COBAC, the Banking Commission of the UMOA, and the Central Bank of Guinea—the seminar aimed to strengthen the technical and operational capacities of supervisors and foster a harmonized approach to risk-based supervision. Discussions focused on the general framework for AML/CFT supervision as well as on off-site and on-site inspections, drawing on the experience of France’s Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR).
